Wooze - Mighty Cloud

The mighty Wooze return with another single in the shape of 'Mighty Cloud' and it is, predictably, mighty fine. Part live techno, part art rock and part alt-indie, this track has pop at its heart but art on its sleeve as the song bounces from the abbrassive and jaggering chorus to the gorgeous, slick chorus. There are 80s influences in there from Roxy Music, Sparks and even Spandau Ballet but don't think for a second that this sounds anything like a pastiche as the energy, rhythms and wonky guitars are as fresh as they come. There's an EP still to come but already Wooze are one of my favourite bands of 2021 and I'll be impressed if anyone knocks them off that perch.
