There's a hypnotic punky bass line that introduces this new release from Devon gang Wish Hounds before their trademark jangly 80s inspired guitars join in. 'Thoroughbreds' could easily come from a collectionf of lost tracks by the Smiths, the Cure or the soundtrack to the Breakfast Club as the urgent beat and delay heavy vocals create the perfect soundclash. Punk, goth, shoegaze, indie, positive energy and heavy hearted lyrics all mix together like disaffected kids at the only club in town, somehow finding commonality in the melee for a few ours in the week. Yes, yes and thrice yes - excellent stuff.
