Third Girl From The Left has been quietly going about her business for a while now but, as the saying goes, it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. That saying is borne out by new single 'The Mountain & the Wave', a song which pulses and swirls from the beginning like a dream scene in Twin Peaks as performed by Christine and the Queens under the direction of Kate Bush (and, trust me, I don't use those reference points lightly). The humming, throbbing bass line and primal, thumping drums are only really half the story (if that) as the vocals to most of the heavy lifting with their range, passion and theatricallity that really lifts the energy all around the listener. Poised, cool and precise but in no way lacking in passion - beauty incarnate.
