Welsh power duo the Joy Fomidable are revving up for the release of their new album this summer with another shot across the bows. New single 'Chimes' is built around a sliding, slithering guitar riff and powerhouse drums which lean in and out of the song which, as combinations go, is somewhat disorientating. There are elements of Sleigh Bells in terms of the structure and song writing in here but with a more prog-rock underbelly that keeps this on the more theatrical side of things. Expect this one to rip your face off when they place it live (unless they do an acoustic version then it will just be like a vigorous sandpapering).
