As the tectonic plates of Country and Soul meet via the individual talents of Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Shemekia Copeland, the resulting erruption is stirring new single 'Hit 'Em Back'. Tight drumming, slathering organs and a pulsating bass line are all whipped in to shape by Shepherd's searing guitar playing. Then comes Copeland's vocal which feels and sounds like Tina Turner in her prime but maybe with a little more depth when its called for. And the theme of this rousing number?
