BREAGH ISABEL - SINGLE REVIEW

Breagh Isabel - Girlfriends (Warner Music
Canada)

Release Date: Out Now

There is a heartbreaking and raw tenderness to this new release from Canadian artist Breagh Isabel that stops you in your tracks. 'Girlfriends' tells the story of discovering your sexuality as a young woman and all the difficulties that poses - "I wanted to be girlfriends but we were just girlfriends" sums up the confusion perfectly. The sweeping, dreamlike melodies bring the nostalgia to life but it is Breagh Isabel's voice, full of purity and 20/20 hindsight, that really draws you in to this song and the story that it tells through the lyrics and the excellent accompanying video. I feel like this track will land well with a lot of 'grown ups' but also with people going through this experience right now so share it wide and far - it might just set someone free.
