I hate, hate, hate that this song
has to exist, but I love, love, love the women who have teamed together to form
Loud Women and the single ‘Reclaim These Streets’. The collective of women (all
named below*) ride the wave of an urgent, pulsating guitar line and drums doing
their best to keep up. Lyrics like “Text me when you get home” and “keys
between your fingers” are sung with passion but also the sadness of knowing that
they’ve all been in the position to take that advice in the past and probably
will again in the future. The choir-like chorus and raw guitar solo give you a
sense of the power these women have so now all we need to do is educate the boys
and men in this world to make those streets a safer place.
