"Middle fingers up til the reaper shows up". That's the call to arms from K.FLAY on her new single 'TGIF' which might make you think this is a thrash metal number full of screaming, hairy men. But no, for the uninitiated K.FLAY is a twisted, innovative and angry artist who has teamed up Tom Morello to create an end of the week anthem with the energy of Tool if they teamed up with Gorillaz. There is, of course, a trademark Morello guitar solo and a stomping beat which works perfectly with the sinister melody and K.FLAY's vocal which channels April Ludgate's dead eyed detachment from the real world.
