Cambridge teen artist Pink Fiz
releases new single ‘Did I Ask?’ at just the right time for a world that needs
to hear this. The moody grunge-pop melodies are redolent of the Cure with the
80s inspired guitars and rapid drums but Pink Fiz’s vocal is more downplayed
and direct, speaking directly those who would say “she was asking for it” about
any woman who was the victim of sexual harassment or abuse. There are hints of
Hole and Smashing Pumpkins to the songwriting but with an injection of punk
spirit and a very British edge which points to much more to come.
