that is the Damn Straights are back with their new single ‘Blow It Up’. Part
Lack of Afro and part Herbal T, the Damn Straights are as funky as they come
but this new release comes with a side order of steely-eyed menace. This is
less than two minutes of angry funk-rock in line with the likes of Rage Against
the Machine or Prophets of Rage but with a punk-ska energy behind the rapid-fire
lyrics from Herbal T himself. This is the perfect song for right here and right
now as America implodes and politics flies up its own arse with a Molotov cocktail.
