London trio Berries are busting
in to 2021 with hotly anticipated new single ‘Copy’ on their new label Xtra
Mile and I, for one, couldn’t be happier. An angular and unpredictable riff starts
things off with a vibe of Pixies playing Biffy Clyro songs in their garage and
then the powerhouse rhythm section joins in and we are off, racing towards the
chequered flag. The vocals of Holly Carter are fierce and melodic with a
steeliness that surely makes her the UK’s answer to Courtney Love in the verses
but in the chorus this is pure Tanya Donnelly and that blend is well and truly
intoxicating
