most talented vocalists ever to approach a microphone? Well, you bring mum in
on production duties and smash it, of course. Lola Lennox is the daughter of
Annie but let’s move past that because ‘La La Love Me’ is a gorgeously retro
tinged song with a real lightness and sense of playfulness that many never
achieve. Lennox’s voice is perfect for this style that sits somewhere between
Motown, Lana Del Rey and Malka and the musicianship really pops and bounces
from the punchy drums to the sprinkling of chimes. Fun, light, fresh and one
hell of an ear worm once that chorus kicks in.
