GEORGIA BLACK – SINGLE REVIEW

Georgia Black – Invisible Enemy

Release Date: Out Now

The press release that accompanies this release mentions a likeness to Shirley Bassey and Lana Del Rey with a Bond-esque lilt and I can see where they’re coming from, but I think Georgia Black has more to her than that. ‘Invisible Enemy’ judders and sashays like a robotic femme fatale with parts of Portishead, Del Rey, Dubstar and Paloma Faith all emerging at different stages. There are, absolutely, hints of cinematic style and Bond elegance in the strings but this is more futuristic and devilish than the franchise could ever hope to be and all the better for it.
