You’ve got to hand it to Chay
Snowdon and his band of merry men, they keep coming up with goods and those
goods just keep getting better. The Plymouthian singer-songwriter-rock’n’roller
is bringing ‘Tough Guys Die First’ to the table with swagger, style and a whole
lot of substance to boot. The early Arctic Monkey’s vibes and post-Britpop
inspired gang vocals are infectious but special mention must be made of the
huge drum sound that elevates this track and drives the energy forwards
relentlessly. Chay Snowdon really has the knack of taking interesting subject
matter, wrapping it up in a catchy banger and then delivering it with a smile
and a wink – like a sexy pizza delivery guy who writes a poem on the box before
ringing your doorbell.
