ADAR ALFANDARI – SINGLE REVIEW

Adar Alfandari – Gold Dust

Release Date: Out Now

There is a sombre and ponderous start to this new single from Israeli artist Adar Alfandari but it soon settles in to something with a dark but positive energy. ‘Gold Dust’ comes with a video documenting the Japanese art of kintsukuroi (fixing broken pottery with a lacquer made of gold dust, thus highlighting and celebrating the cracks) and this goes some way to explaining the content of this song. Musically, there are tones of Oasis, the Kinks, Space, Jeff Buckley’s guitar work and the Bluetones but all played with a tone that is more Eastern than Western which makes this a thoroughly absorbing and engaging release. More please.
