Yazzy – I’m Choosing Me

North Devon’s Yazzy has been blipping away on my radar for a
while now but when her new single landed in my inbox I can honestly say that I
wasn’t expecting this. ‘I’m Choosing Me’ is an incredibly polished, mature and
accomplished break up ballad with delicious piano notes, sumptuous strings and
a tight rhythm section. All of this is fine enough but then throw in Yazzy’s
incredibly soulful voice that stays firmly the right side of ever straying in
to warbling territory (no Mariah Carey tendencies here). Part Adele, part
Whitney Houston and a whole lot of Yazzy. Superb stuff.
