Shrewsbury outfit the Sunset
Beach Hut release new single ‘Funk’ at a time when optimism sits on a knife
edge and this might just tip things in the right direction. Rolling guitar
notes, a reassuringly funky bass line and a loose beat are all appealing in
their own right but the dreamy, laid back vocals of Aphra Smith really seal the
deal with this one. There is a dreaminess that reminds me of the likes of
Tennis, Best Coast and Patawawa and anyone operating in that sphere is more
than fine by me.
