THE SCRUFF – SINGLE REVIEW

The Scruff – Vultures
The Scruff - Vultures

Release Date: Out Now

Bedford trio The Scruff are stomping a tried and tested path with the kind of lively and cocksure indie-rock that the likes of Supergrass, the Fratellis and others have had such success. What sets new single ‘Vultures’ apart from the other pretenders is that it is so much more than the sum of its parts. A dirty growling bass, thrashing drums and scratchy, punk inspired guitars are just the appetiser to gang backing vocals and a swaggering lead singer who drips in the kind of personality that A&R folk would be drooling over if they were allowed in to an actual venue right now. Throw in some heavily hooky hooks and the kind of energy that allows you to pack all of this in to 150 seconds and you’ve got the kind of track that it’s very easy to binge on between meals without ruining your appetite.
