Edmonton trio Scenic Route to Alaska have been passing the
cold winter months by writing anthemic indie-rock bangers like new single ‘Daydreaming’
and we should all be grateful for that. Swaggering guitars, a pulsating rhythmic
section and the kind of vocal melodies that are super easy to hook in to all
combine with a brilliant video to make for the kind of ‘full package’ that
should have corporates falling over themselves. There’s a real 90s energy to this,
in the vein of Crash Test Dummies or Semisonic, and that puts this high up my
list of tracs that I’ve fallen in love with early in 2020 (it’s an actual list,
get over it). Don’t watch the video if you’re high though, it will freak you
right out.
