MADISON BEER – SINGLE REVIEW

Madison Beer – Good in Goodbye (Epic

Release Date: Out Now

I have long held the opinion that Madison Beer is going to be an important and huge star in the pop sphere of the music world and her new single supports that theory in spades. ‘Good in Goodbye’ is a devastatingly sharp pop song with a video of high production values but it’s the song that really hits you between the eyes. This is a breakup song that starts with a sinister music box melody which is trampled under the booted foot of Beer’s assured and cutting vocal. “You put the over in lover, put the ex in next, ain’t no I in trouble just the you since we met, coz your toxic boy I ain’t even gonna try to find the G.O.O.D. in goodbye” sings our heroine in a devasting chorus that would be at home in Britney or Katie Perry song but is lethal here. And that melody which stands unassumingly behind that vocal and those lyrics? Well, you’d better watch it because it will worm its way in to your subconscious and stay with you all day. Oh, and she wrote, directed and starred in the video too – this is no vacuous pop princess people, Beer means business.
