Toronto based Tami Neilson is
such a wonderful, positive force that I can’t recommend her highly enough and
if you’re new to this world then her new single ‘Ten Tonne Truck’ is the perfect
gateway drug for you. Dripping in alt-country cool but formed around the solid
structure of classic country, this track is an absolute foot stomping beauty
with the kind of rhythm that gets under your skin and more sass than a Drag
queen beauty pageant. Neilson’s voice is full of soul and wisdom, but the
lyrics are about the ambition and work ethic needed to “make so much money,
need a ten tonne truck”. I’d love to see Tami Neilson’s name on a few UK festival
line-ups in 2020 as I think she would go down an absolute storm across the
board due to her universal appeal and timeless, classy style.
