Emmrose is a songwriter and a
singer but, more uniquely, she is a performer and all three strands bind
together on new single ‘Hopeless Romantics’. Spanish inspired guitars and
Tarantino energy grabs you with steely eyes from the get-go and lures you on to
the dancefloor with mischief high on the agenda. Emmrose’s vocal switches from
sweet and demure to lustrous and devilish in the blink of an eye, like a hybrid
of Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Florence Welch and Anna Calvi and it’s almost
impossible not to be drawn into her world. Then again, why would you even try
to resist?
