I’m so, so pleased for Scottish
alt-pop singer songwriter Nina Nesbitt. After taking a break from the music
world to strip away the layers and get back to her true self, she has found
enormous success in 2019. Support slots with Jess Glynne and Kylie, well on the
way to a billion worldwide streams of her new album and collaborations with
John Newman and Pete Tong in the pipelines are just a few of the highlights.
Oh, and Taylor Swift and Chloe Grace Moretz are new, vocal fans. Anyway, the
music: new single ‘Black & Blue’ is a beautifully stripped back piano and
vocal tune that speaks of the scars of self-doubt that creep in to your mind at
the most inconvenient times. Nesbitt’s voice is perfectly poised between
breathy fragility and the sweet, strong power you need to pull yourself out of
that black hole. Mark my words and mark them well, Nina Nesbitt is a name
