One Little Indian have only gone
and unearthed another gem in the shape of Gabriel Olafs, an Icelandic pianist
of significant talent. Olafs’ new single ‘Filma’ is slow and sombre thing of
beauty played out gently on the soft keys of a Piano with Cello and Violin
soothing the spaces in between. As the tune swells, instrumentally, the
addition of sprinkled glockenspiel notes brings some magic to this piece and if
you close your eyes then you can almost see the orange leaves of autumn swirling
around you as the remains of the year disappear over the horizon. Beautiful.
