San Fran supergroup Imperial Teen
are back and new single ‘Walkaway’ and it is an indie delight of epically lo-fi
proportions. The distant thunder of the drums is like the Beach Boys
approaching with some gorgeous organ chords soothing the clouds a la the
Watanabes. Vocally, there are some downplayed but sweeter than sugar harmonies
that give this a Pulp vibe but if Pulp were from the West Coast and maybe did a
little skateboarding now and again. A great tune to open up the windows and let
the morning sunlight in to so save this one for Sunday morning and thank me
later.
