AVA – SINGLE REVIEW

AVA – Resistance (One Little Indian Records)
AVA - Resistance

Release Date: Out Now

One Little Indian are making a name for themselves as the label spearheading the new Classical wave of musicians with Poppy Ackroyd already gaining praise and now ambient duo AVA winning me over in the must luxurious way. Aisling Brouwer is the pianist, Anna Phoebe the violinist and they both dabble with electronically generated beats and melodies to create music like stunning new single ‘Resistance’. The interplay of key and string is sublime and brings to mind the likes of Ludovico Einaudi, Muse when they go non-commercial or the compositions behind big TV shows like Game of Thrones or Chernobyl. This is stirring, explorative, addictive and moving stuff that really should see AVA moving in loftier circles than this humble blog but boy am I glad they stopped by on their way up the ladder. Simply stunning.
