BLACK FUTURES – SINGLE REVIEW

Black Futures – Tunnel Vision (Music For
Black Futures - Tunnel Vision
Nations)

Release Date: Out Now

So, the news that I’ve been waiting what feels like an eternity for has finally arrived; Black Futures will be releasing their debut album, ‘Never Not Nothing’, this August and we should all be very excited. In the meantime, the Lords of doom pop have dropped this tasty morsel from their table for us to fight over and it is worth the fight. ‘Tunnel Vision’ finds the duo in reliably direct form with a beat and bass throb that comes straight from an as yet unrealised Tron soundtrack. The key changes are straight from the Muse playbook (‘Knights of Cydonia’ era) but the energy and darkness is somewhere between Primal Scream, Slaves, Queens of the Stone Age and Carter USM at their angriest. There are a select few live appearances over the summer but when that album drops, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a tour accompany it. This is your final warning.

31st May – Victoria Park, London
1st June – Camden Rocks, London
