If you haven’t got on board with
New York quartet Charly Bliss yet then you really are missing out on a real
treat. The band’s new single, ‘Chatroom’, comes complete with an engaging and
curious video about a lo-fi cult but this is set against a bittersweet slice of
indie-pop. What Charly Bliss do so well is create infectious little earworms
melodies but then play them out with razor blade infused bubble-gum energy and
lyrics that cut you to the quick. There’s a brief visit to Europe scheduled for
May and I fully expect European audiences to fall very quickly in love with
these funsters but watch out for the recoil on those tunes, it’s a doozy.
