like denim jeans and denim jackets so it’s no surprise that The New Republic
are such an appealing prospect. New single ‘Roller Disco’ combines the raw and
sharp impact of early Arctic Monkeys material with the urgent energy of bands
like Devo and Television which is a strong starting platform. In terms of
contemporaries, The New Republic would fit nicely on a bill alongside Sisteray
and maybe as a more accessible warm-up for Cassels which, as far as I’m
concerned, makes them one worth sticking a pin in.
