Austrian artist Lea Santee is
coming straight outta Vienna with new single ‘Wine’ and it’s a playful little
number that certainly surprised me. There’s an effortless energy to this that
falls in to the Dua Lipa category with hand claps and undulating
instrumentation not to mention the Spanish guitar that just wanders in at some
point. Santee’s voice is dusky and sultry in all the right places but this
certainly sounds more Mediterranean than Alpine which is probably the reason
for the aforementioned surprise. Still, regardless of my misplaced
preconceptions, this is a gorgeous slice of classy alt-pop that I would
recommend you pop on your summer playlist for next year (or winter holiday).
