online cracks me up sometimes. Oak Furniture Land thought “who is our target
market for mass produced Oak furniture? Probably the kind of people who like
mash ups between pioneering Jungle DJ Shy FX and the First Lady of UK agit-pop
Lily Allen”. Anyway, the trudge of spurs and twang of Duane Eddy guitars gets
things going on ‘Roll the Dice’ and then we’re off with the furious club beats
and spurted blasts of samples. Stamina MC and Lily Allen present different
sides of the same nightclub experience with both declaring “If things go nice
then things might happen and we could be in love”. I really didn’t know what to
expect from this but it works. Scratch that, it does more than that – it gets
under your skin and does a number on you. Perfect Friday night material.
