Wales’ innovative band game is
strong at the moment and MADI are the latest off the production line with new
single ‘Dirty (Word)’. Within the first minute, this track moves from weirdly
sampled vocal sounds, through pop stomper in the vein of Kimbra and on to
theatrical elements that Mika and Felix Hagan and the Family. All of this is
wrapped up in the superb vocals of frontwoman Maddie Jones and sprinkled with
electro fairy dust that just makes things pop. I don’t know what’s in the Welsh
water these days but MADI have been drinking gallons of it and it sounds ace.
