Yossarian are now on their third album and ‘Red Paranoia’ is the first single
to be taken from that collection. A pulsing and driving guitar line with urgent
drums get things going and then a beautiful voice joins in and suddenly we’re
in the territory of the National or Grinderman being swept away by the
elements. A sprinkle of hope and healthy dose of optimism infuses this whole
piece in the way Elbow manage with wonderfully uplifting results and I am
entirely enthralled. If you are looking for a way in to a new band that have
found their groove already then I would thoroughly recommend this one.
