Imperial Leisure are one of those bands that will probably be around longer than the human race, cock roaches and Twinkies in terms of their durability. New single ‘RRRRRollin’ (that’s fiver Rs if you’re keeping count) gets things moving with a skank of the highest order and horns that slide in to the room wearing spatz and a cheeky smile. The tension that builds in the verses is released by triumphant choruses and if this doesn’t have festivals and venues jumping, sweating and skanking all the way up to Christmas then Brexit truly has ruined us all. Throw in a Latino middle eight and some serious trumpet blasts and you’ve got yourself a party so don’t just stand at the back – put your drink down and let’s have a dance, eh?
