GRACE INSPACE – SINGLE REVIEW

Grace Inspace – Watersource (AWAL)
Grace Inspace - Watersource

Release Date: Out Now

Grace Inspace is fast becoming one of my favourite new artists and there’s something special about an artist that can create a catchy, beautiful and unique song around the idea of bringing water to parched areas of California. ‘Watersource’ is based around a vocal harmony followed by a loose, Eels-esque beat and then Grace Inspace’s dreamy, spaced out vocal imploring you to “Find me a source of water baby”. There are elements of more recent B52s, St Etienne, Kimbra, Cosmo Sheldrake and Lily Allen but all wrapped up in the determination and clarity of youth. There’s a hashtag on this that refers to Protest Pop and that is a great description, but the only problem is that this song is so catchy and fun it runs the risk of not getting the message across unless, like me, you’ve given this about 15 listens in the last week alone.
