It is fitting that new single
‘Wave After Wave’ comes out now as Cornishmen Ennor seek to usher in a much
delayed and yearned for summer to their native coastline. The early signs are
sombre with a gentle acoustic melody and shuffled beat waking us sleepily from
our winter hibernation with blinking eyes and tight muscles. However, the low
harmonies breathe life in to us and the splash of cymbals act as a refreshing
blast of water to the face and suddenly we’re awake. Half way through, the beat
picks up and the song is transformed in to a rousing, Brother & Bones-esque
track with pounding drums and the kind of vocal sound you last heard on early
U2 and Simple Minds tracks. With a burst of energy the track erupts in to a
triumphant climax and summer is here…in our minds and souls if not in the
actual, physical world.
