FONTAINES D.C. – SINGLE REVIEW

Fontaines D.C. – Chequeless Reckless

Fontaines D.C. - Chequeless Reckless
Release Date: 23rd February 2018

Hotly tipped Dublin gents Fontaines D.C. are in the midst of a whirlwind tour and have a new single to throw your way like a pair of recently worn pants. ‘Chequeless Reckless’ is a little over two minutes of intense, abrasive and alluring music built around a churning, relentless guitar line and an urgent beat that echoes of the buildings like the footsteps of a paranoid and panicked late night stumbler. Then throw in the vocal delivery that is a little bit Idles, a bit Mark E Smith and a lot of dead-eyed-fuck-you stare with an Irish brogue.  Fontaines D.C. are the kind of band that used to get A&R folk moist in the gusset but I have a feeling those aforementioned A&R folks should probably keep on walking if they value those aforementioned gussets.
