Now, this might just be year for
London duo Ferris & Sylvester who are riding high on some excellent
releases in 2017 and rave reviews all over the shop (from Mojo and Rolling
Stone to this humble blog). So new release ‘Better In Yellow’ is an exciting
prospect and the accompanying video is the cherry on ruddy tasty looking cake. Straight
away, you can hear that the duo have moved on to a more complex sound mixing
their sweet harmonies and warm tones that are their trademark with something
new and different. There are George Ezra levels of positive vibes with some
lush horns as well as some 60s inspired pop and the kind of beat that will put
a skip in your step on your way to work. Realistically, yellow is a hard colour
to pull off but if you’ve got this playing in your ears I don’t think you’ll care.
Break through song? Quite possibly. Someone get a copy of this on the BBC Radio 2
playlist, stat.
