AKA GEORGE - SINGLE REVIEW

AKA George – Manic Machine

AKA George - Manic Machine

Release Date: 23rd February 2018

There have been a glut of solo women taking on the pop world recently so it’s great to find a guy going it alone in that most mainstream of categories. AKA George is that guy and he’s got the full package (easy, ladies) in that he looks like a model, sings like the adopted child of Gary Numan and David Gahan bit with a millennial edge and can play pretty much any instrument he lays his hands on (easy, fellas). ‘Manic Machine’ is a dirty, alt-pop club anthem with a scream-along chorus and low down sexy verses that make this primed for a Benny Benassi video but I don’t think our George will go down that route, he’s not one for the obvious. He’s got tonnes of online hits/likes/followers but much like Shania Twain, that don’t impress me much. No, what does impress me is the drive of one guy to create the kind EDM-pop that reminds me of Goose or Above & Beyond and should have crowds of delirious revellers going mad this year. Way to represent, George.
