I must admit a sense of trepidation
on receiving the new single by Swiss girl group Miracle Four. The quartet were formed
in 2014 in a vocal school but only signed up in 2017 so they’re still in that fairly
formative stage – hence the tour of London’s hottest industry bars booked for
this October. ‘Fallen Star’ opens with a piano line followed some soft, pop
vocals that set the tone and the pace for this piece. Sure, the voices blend
nicely and the musicianship (yes, they actually play instruments) is clean but
you can’t help but feel these four ladies are destined for Eurovision before
they get any more mainstream acclaim. If you heard this as a tall-stools ballad
on a Little Mix album then you wouldn’t blink, such is the slick production and
grandiose crescendo but I’m interested to hear their more up-tempo stuff before
fully judging their pop credentials.
