EMBRACE – SINGLE REVIEW

Embrace – The Finish Line
Embrace - The Finish Line

Release Date: Out Now

The 90s revival continues apace and the latest act to get involved are Leeds legends Embrace. The very Embrace that brought a touch of the soulful and anthemic to the era that preceded the millennium. This new single, ‘The Finish Line’, comes complete with a mini-tour of the UK and then a brand-new album in 2018 so they’re not messing around. Musically, this exists in that place between forlorn and uplifting, that space where you’ve just hit rock bottom and you decide to start kicking back against the world. The sombre vocals of frontman Danny McNamara mix so perfectly with the swell of the melodies to create a tune that would fit nicely in alongside the likes of Elbow, the Verve and Mumford & Sons assuming they resisted the urge to pick up a banjo. There’s no suggestion that this is a slight return, these guys are in it for the long haul and this is just the start. Good to have you back boys.
