Release Date: Out Now

Remember Salad? You know, from the 90s and from Britpop and all that? I had a Salad carrier bag for a while from their ‘Ice Cream’ album, that was pretty neat. Anyway, Paul and Marijne from the band are back with a little stripped down single under the guise of Salad Undressed and said single, ‘Being Human’, is a lot of fun. Marijne’s breathy vocal is edgy and somewhat, well, not of this world with a sense of the dramatic. The guitars have a wild-west meets Britpop vibe as the rhythmic chug is quietly relentless and keeps things moving regardless of your will. “Being human, what a stroke of luck, must try harder to catch up” they sing with that whispered sense of cinematic drama that Salad and Pulp pioneered so delightfully all through the 1990s. Good to have them back, then, and on tour with some of their peers too. What a time to be alive?!
