Rock-rap supergroup Prophets Of
Rage are definitely one of my highlights of 2017 so far and I hope they hang
around long enough to hold a mirror up to the world until it cracks. In the
meantime, we’ll just have to make do with their latest single, ‘Living On The
110’, which is entirely awesome so that’s OK. The head-bobbing groove laid down
by the bass and drums is pure Rage Against The Machine and then Tom Morello’s
guitar does it’s inventive but still melodic thing all over the top to make
sure there’s a hook to proceedings. Here we have musicians who could sit on
their behinds for the rest of their lives and still be comfortable but they’re
not creating music for financial gain – well, not their gain anyway. No,
Prophets Of Rage are here to raise awareness, to hold that aforementioned
mirror up and make sure people get equality in this messed up world. Who’s in?
