MUX – SINGLE REVIEW

MUX – MDMA
MUX - MDMA

Release Date: Out Now

There is something instantly loveable about this track, presuming that, like me, you love darkly funky alt-pop with a touch of something unhinged about it. London newcomers MUX are about to unleash their debut EP on the world but are giving us fair warning with this single, ‘MDMA’. Taking influences from Django Django, Dutch Uncles, Prodigy, Everything Everything and 12 Rounds, MUX combine throbbing synth bass, laconic guitar chords and floor filling beats to create a seedy bed for the vocals to roll about on like an overweight pimp in a silk robe surrounded by the finest escorts that Essex has to offer. There is a dream-like quality to this song but not a dream you would want to stay in for long – the video perfectly suits this tune as some kind of twisted, nightmarish E4 ident gone horribly wrong when the cameras were left rolling. The perfect soundtrack to our times, surely.
