It’s not often I review two
different releases by the same artist so close together but I don’t think there’s
a lot of time to hang around with Irish upstarts The Klares so I wanted to get
in early. The band’s latest single, ‘Gooie’, starts in reliably intense fashion
with blistering guitars, buck-shot drums and a real sense of punk energy and urgency.
Think the Libertines, the Arctic Monkeys or Reverend & The Makers all at
the very start of their careers with that intoxicating mix of raw talent high
energy. This is the kind of song that you might first come across being played
live in the corner of a living room at a house party but could easily get
national airplay at the same time. This is the time to get involved in the
Klares as I strongly suspect Eoin, Jordan, Andy and Cormac will be moving on
pretty quickly to bigger and better things.
