When she’s not representing
Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest (2016 if you’re interested), Rykka
splits her time between Zurich and Vancouver and there can’t be many musicians
that can boast that commute on a regular basis. New single ‘Runnin’ Away’ is a
slinky slice of Amy Winehouse meets Angie Europop which shouldn’t work but it
kinda does. There’s something of Robyn to the vocals and that’s not bad thing
as Rykka sings of escaping it all and being at one with her one true love/lust.
This is a great top down pop song ready for the summer so do yourself a favour
and get this one on your summer playlist.
