FALSE HEADS – SINGLE REVIEW

False Heads – Thick Skin (25 Hour Convenience Store)
False Heads - Thick Skin

Release Date: Out Now

East London (or Lahndahn) lads False Heads are building up quite the head of steam, metaphorically speaking, and new single ‘Thick Skin’ has already been garnering them a good lump of attention. What’s great about the music that Luke, Barney and Jake produce is that it seems to stem from that rare thing these days – a group of mates grabbing some instruments and telling a story. Nothing more complicated or careerist than that. ‘Thick Skin’ combines the influences of the likes of the Libertines, the Clash, the Jam and Blur at their brattish best to create a slice of angry, disaffected, punky noise with low rumbling guitars, crashing drums and sneering vocals that repeat the line “what a waste?” with throat grabbing intensity. A buzzsaw guitar outro and a single fingered salute leaves you wanting more as well as wanting to be part of their gang (but not in a Gary Glitter kind of way).
