Geordie gents Kobadelta are back
with new single, ‘Hold Yr’self’, which is accompanied by a hectic point of view
video that leaves you with a spot of motion sickness. The Doors meets Primal
Scream with Nick Cave on production duties gives you a flavour of this tune but
the wall of guitars blurred together with a growling bass, a few blasts of
flute and a swirl of ambience tell the full story. These guys have consistently
been pumping out tunes that impress, arouse and generally grab you by which
ever genitals you are in possession of but it feels like they need that leg up
now the next level. Big radio airplay, a management deal or some attention
stateside should do it but if there’s any justice in the world Kobadelta will
be more of a household name but the time Santa starts steaming his special
suit.
