Well, it's been a while but
Listen With Monger is back what better way than to herald the return to your
eyes and ears than with the uplifting alt-pop of LA troupe Happy Hollows.
Latest single 'Way Home' is a sunrise of a tune, cycling through city streets
in the warmest morning glow after the clubbers have returned to their caves but
before the joggers have fully limbered up. Bits of Above & Beyond, Blondie,
Belly and Bombay Bicycle Club with a frantically clicking beat, bouncing
guitars and, oh, those vocals!?! Sarah Negahdari has one of those voices that
is soaring, sweet, fun and piercing all at the same time - it's the kind of
voice you could take out dancing but then introduce to your mother then next
morning over pancakes and not one beat would be missed. Wonderfully wondrous
music and the perfect (re) start to the year.
