SPEAK, BROTHER - SINGLE REVIEW

Speak, Brother - Lions Roar
Speak Brother - Lions Roar

Release Date: Out Now

Sports related songs are always hit and miss, with waaaay more misses than hits over the years (for every 'World In Motion' there's a 'Come On You Reds'). So, when Rugby Borough Council decided to commission a song to celebrate the Rugby World Cup coming to the UK they were putting their reputation as musical taste makers on the line. Local lads Speak, Brother took up the mantle and came up with the aptly named 'Lions Roar', a song steeped in rousing emotions and English summery vibes. The video could be an advert for Pimms or Richmond sausages but if you close your eyes and listen in then you'll hear a tune that would sit comfortably between Mumford & Sons and Passenger. Most importantly, they've got the mix just right of a song that works on its own right but could also be chanted out by a proud and boisterous Rugby crowd at Twickenham. Now, hands up, I'm more of a football fan that a Rugby follower but I have to say that this track knocks most football songs in to a cocked hat. Well played lads. Touchdown! Or whatever it's called....
